Barcoding of Life
project:
Global Sesiidae -
Clearwing Moths of the World
Project Manager:
Franz Pühringer
(©
Dr. Franz
Pühringer, Häusern 4, A-4817 St. Konrad, Austria)
Last modified: 8-May-2012
The aim of the project is to achieve
barcodes (= 658 bp sequences of COX1 mitochondrial DNA) of 10 specimens (covering
the whole distribution area) of each species, in order to elucidate the
phylogenetic relationship
of clearwing moths (in association with morphological and other characters).
So help is urgently needed from Sesiidologists' community.
Required are: 1
leg of the specimen, foto, data (locality [including geographical
coordinates], date, collector, collection), and determination of the specimen.
(so at least: 1 leg, fotos of specimen and labels [including determination
label])
The specimens should not be older than 10(15) years if possible. THEY
MAY HOWEVER BE DEGREASED!
If you are willing to contribute to this project, or if
you have any comments or questions to the following list, mailto:
